1609 Bad timing
Just had a look at the telly for next week and Jamie' Great Escape will be on Channel 4 Wednesday at 8.30pm. Been dying to watch it. Got fed up now with the repeats of Floyd in Italy. Where will I be - just landing in Brindisi. Can't believe the luck. Have to get mum to video.
Here's what the preview says in the paper:
Jamie Oliver is taking a break from his one-man school dinners' crusade.
After taking up arms against turkey twizzlers and giving unemployed kids a chance to work in his restaurant, its time for him to get back to cooking.
The Naked Chef takes off for Italy to rekindle his love of food.
Its flavours have always been Jamie's inspiration - but how will his English take on the country's food measure up?
In his camper van, Jamie travels the country in search of some of Italy's best food.
He cooks with people who're passionate about their food - from fishermen to farmers, a countess to a road sweeper, who thinks he eats better than royalty.
Along the way he'll also have to kill his own food (hopefully, not by runing it over).
He'll also cook for some of the toughest diners he ever faced - ordinary ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs.
He finds out why Italy has such a strong culture of food and asks why its missing over here.
He also has to keep his ageing camper van going.
With all the money of his, couldn't he have forked out for a Winnegago?
Sounds good and can't wait, even if I'll have to wait two weeks to catch up. :p
