I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but it is rather disturbing. On Friday my husband collected payment for a job from the bank account of a client and went to our bank to pay some bills. When counting out the money the teller found a false note. When my husband said he had obtained the money from a bank the teller asked if the money had been counted out on a machine, which it had. Apparently the bank machines do not recognise false notes at all, so to be safer, you should always ask the teller to count the money by hand (they can nearly always recognise one) as there are an awful lot of these false notes in circulation.
