1579 Gas connection & combi boiler

The place we're buying (in bagnone, lunigiana) is coming with an arga in the kitchen, but i think a combi boiler and central heating is still the way to go (it gets very cold in winter). Can anyone give me a very rough estiamte of how much this might cost to install, bearing in mind there is gas on the road just outside.
Cheers, Will

When we had ours done about 2 years ago

gas connection [inc meter] - about 300Euros

gas combi boiler - supply, install and connect gas up from meter [approx 30m pipe run from meter] - about 1500Euros. [depends on the size of the boiler]

To get the meter installed, I went to the local [Doragas] office. We had an immediate site visit to agree the site of the meter [on the gatepost]. then back to the office, cheque written and meter installed the following week.

Remember that to get the gas turned on, the plumber will need to provide you with a certificate of conformance for the installation, which you send to the gas office.

The Dorogas people gave me 2 copies of a blank certificate to give to the plumber to fill in [1 for the gas people and the other for me]

HI sorry for my ignorance but what is an arga? Also does the home have a furnace or do you have to still buy that and does it have the radiators already in the home? As 1500 euros seems very cheap if you are starting from scratch.

An arga is a type of (in this case wood burning) cooker which can be used to heat the house, unfortunately it is hard to control the level of heat given off, and due to this in the summer it cant really be used and in the winter there's the problem of making and waiting for the fire before you feel the warmth.

The house is a kitchen/livingroom, bathroom and master bedroom (excluding the cellar, which we'd probably heat with electric radiators), so fairly small... the radiators are not in place. With regards to a furnace, we will not be having one.

HI so you are talking about a stove where you throw the wood in am I correct? They have those new ones out that instead of putting in wood they have these little pelletts and one sack a day of those will do the trick for a small home. The cost is excellent and this also heats up the water and pipes leading to the radiators so a very good investment and keeps the home very warm and cost less then using gas. We have a machine that takes sanzo and best to descripe this substances is after the grind the olives for making oil they take the material, try it and grind it up..This is what we use to burn in our machine which produces hot water and heat. Anyone ever hear of this method?

Thats right, but i feel the one we've got is unsuitable for our home, and if we're going to buy a new one, id rather go the combi boiler route...

In fact, reading a magazine on this yeaterday, I saw that british gas and powergen are going to bring outa new type of combi boiler, which produces electricity too... sounds pretty perfect. Does anyone have any info on this, or know if it is/will be available in italy.
