We're in England. I've spent about 2 hours:confused: on Amazon and have found a few books, but still hunting for something that I think will keep his attention!

What about interactive cd roms, where he can have fun, at the same time learning the language without too much effort.
I've found this site and am going to have a good look myself tomorrow and may order something for my 4 kids to have a go at.

Good luck
Hi All,
So, does anyone know of any books or internet sites that may be more suitable and keep the interest of a 10 year old?
Thanks in advance.
The BBC also do a language course specifically for children learning ½ûÂþÌìÌà as part of the MUZZY series. I have never seen it but have heard that it is extremely good. There are books, CDs and DVD/video's and as it is aimed at children it is full of fun characters. It is fairly expensive but is meant to be one of the best ways for children to learn a second language.
For books, try www.amazon.com when we were looking for childrens ½ûÂþÌìÌà books, we found a much better selection than on the co.uk site.
suitable ½ûÂþÌìÌà books
Hi All,
We are currently paying a private tutor to teach Benjamin ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. The first few weeks went okay, but recently he's lost interest. We (tutor and I) feel that maybe the books we're using - Buongiorno Italia from the BBC series, is really not suitable for his age.
So, does anyone know of any books or internet sites that may be more suitable and keep the interest of a 10 year old?
Thanks in advance.
Know you will probably say this is obvious and not feasible anyway but will say anyway! Come and live here, children learn so quickly when immersed in the language. Meanwhile do not push too hard or you will put him off altogether.

We do plan to move, but sadly not for a year or two. :( Our two oldest boys are heading towards their GCSE's and we don't want to move them yet. They are also not bothered about moving to Italy, but DS3 does want to and was happy to learn the language. That's why we want to find something to keep his attention!

Just a thought but what about finding an ½ûÂþÌìÌà boy of a similar age who wants to learn English and you could set up some sort of holiday exchanges for the next few years. They could write emails to each other etc, etc and probably both improve their language skills along the way.

And for this speaking to the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Consulate in the UK - may be able to give you pointers - they found me my private ½ûÂþÌìÌà Tutor
Are you based in UK or Italy? Just wondering?
