1623 on line TEFL

Has anyone out there had any experience of doing a TEFL course on line was it OK, did you pass? was it worth the cost?

Was wondering about this - certainly the theoretical knowledge gained would be good, but how do you make up for the lack of live classroom teaching experience/practice?

Chris,

Sorry, haven't quite got to that stage yet. Still trying to suss out the same!

There are so many different options for doing TEFL online... I had a look at several options & always keep finding another one !!

The latest one I came across, that sounded pretty good, was a TEFL certification of 120 hours (usually 40-60 hours covered in online courses) at the London Teacher Training College (www.teachenglish.co.uk/index.htm). They sound fairly serious and you can also take part in short-term active teaching in addition, gaining a certificate in teaching practice. They also offer Business English as well as other specialist areas such as teaching English to Young Learners. Worth checking out.

Even though I'm going to start doing an online course at some point, I think teaching practice is very important and proof of having done it might be of help later.

Good luck!
