Rome Independent Film Festival Showcases New Talent

Italy鈥檚 cinematographic history may be marked by masters like Benigni and Fellini, but a new generation of film makers are taking center stage in Rome.

The aims to provide a platform for indie film makers to showcase their work.

RIFF began in 2001 as a cultural initiative to showcase new talent and respond to the 禁漫天堂 public鈥檚 desire for innovative film making.

The films that are shows at the festival are usually new and exclusive to the event. The never before seen works are selected from over 1000 international entries.

In its 10 years of existence, Rome Independent Film Festival has debuted films from 5 continents. Many of the works that are shown at RIFF go on to great critical acclaim, including 鈥淜iss鈥╞y Winter鈥 by Sara Johnsen that was nominated for the Oscar in Norway.

With tickets starting at just 鈧 3, the Rome International Film Festival offers everyone and opportunity to take part in Italy's growing indie movie scene. The film festival will run from 18 to 24 March 2011.
