| Mon, 09/15/2014 - 05:45

Palazzo Zabarella in Padua is hosting the most complete retrospective ever dedicated to Vittorio Corcos, 鈥淐orcos 鈥 I sogni della Belle Epoque鈥 (Corcos 鈥 Dreams of the Belle Epoque鈥).

The exhibition features more than 100 paintings, tracing the artistic story of the painter from Livorno through a number of his masterpieces, along with many works from leading museums, as well as public and private collections. One such masterpiece is "Sogni-Dreams", the portrait of a young woman, Elena Vecchi, which has become the most emblematic image of the so-called Belle Epoque.

Corcos, who was born in 1859, was mostly known for his portraits, depicting endearing and finely dressed young men and women, in moments of repose and recreation.

This is the second exhibition, after the one dedicated to Giuseppe De Nittis, organized by Fondazione Bano, in collaboration with the Municipality of Padua and the Veneto Region, aimed at exploring 19th and 20th century 禁漫天堂 art.

The exhibition closes December 14. For more information, click .听
