Tens of thousands of the fashion industry鈥檚 elite are descending on Florence and Milan this week to catch the latest in men鈥檚 fashion. The fashion events offer the opportunity to designers to debut their 2011-2012 Spring/Summer capsules to an international audience.
In addition to featuring over 1000 brands, including 80 women鈥檚 lines, Pitti Uomo has a long tradition of thematic performance. On Wednesday, veteran female models donned black catsuits to act as canvases during a special fashion performance titled 鈥淒ress like a Man鈥 celebrating the reach of menswear that extends beyond the intended male demographic.
The Milan shows will begin on Saturday, as Dolce&Gabbana, Jil Sander, Burberry and Roberto Cavalli debut their collections.
Sunday鈥檚 runway shows will include Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada and Missoni.
Lovers of Gucci and Versace will have to wait until Monday, and Tuesday鈥檚 finale will be closed by Giorgio Armani.
