Legendary composer Ennio Morricone, the man behind some of the most memorable music in the history of film, is returning to the U.S. for two special concerts.
The maestro will conduct an ensemble of 200 musicians and singers performing some of his landmark film music on March 20 in Los Angeles and on March 23 in Brooklyn.
Morricone, 85, has composed music for such films as 鈥淎 Fistful of Dollars,鈥 鈥淔or a Few Dollars More,鈥 鈥淥nce Upon a Time in the West,鈥 聽鈥淐inema Paradiso,鈥 聽鈥淭he Untouchables,鈥 鈥淚nglorious Basterds,鈥 鈥淒jango Unchained,鈥 and 鈥淭he Good, the Bad and the Ugly.鈥
In 2007, Morricone received the honorary award from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for his 鈥渕agnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music.鈥 He has been nominated five times for an Academy Award, inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for the soundtrack to 鈥淭he Good, the Bad and the Ugly鈥 and won Grammy Awards for the soundtracks to 鈥淥nce Upon a Time in the West鈥 and 鈥淭he Untouchables.鈥
